A dreamlike perspective on rural and urban landscapes, where the conjunction of
elements, light, air, fluid, matter, composes images in transformation.

This body of work brings together scenes drawn from places that have marked the artist’s journey between the years 2015-2024. It offers a dreamlike perspective on rural and urban landscapes, where the conjunction of elements, light, air, fluid, matter, composes images in transformation.

These works, developed from a photographic approach, integrate movement as an extension and as an element of dialogue within the image. Through a precise assembly of multiple captures, Jean-Sébastien Veilleux develops a visual language in which contrasts between stillness and movement create tension and establish a renewed reading of the image.

The works unfold within a continuous temporality, allowing the emergence of a space for contemplation. The artist seeks to slow down time, to restore a sense of presence to the image on screen, akin to a painted canvas, and to reaffirm a sense of density and value in response to the banalization of images.

In this body of work, the artist uses photography, understood as an evolving technology, as the result of an ongoing research practice aimed at renewing modes of perception and reexamining our relationship to the image through the digital medium.
